Frequently Asked Questions

What types of businesses do you typically work with?

We focus on boutique coffee shops, artisan roasteries, and specialty cafés that are serious about quality and operational precision. Our clients range from single-location startups to multi-site establishments looking to standardise their back-of-house workflows.

How does your menu engineering process work?

We begin by analysing your current sales data, ingredient costs, and customer preferences. Using a profitability-popularity matrix, we identify which items to spotlight, rework, or retire. The result is a menu that drives higher margins without sacrificing creativity or guest satisfaction.

Do you offer ongoing staff training or just one-off sessions?

Both. We provide intensive on-site barista workshops covering advanced extraction techniques, sensory calibration, and workflow efficiency. For longer-term partnerships, we also offer quarterly refresher courses and remote coaching to maintain consistency as your team evolves.

What does cold-chain logistics consulting involve?

We audit your current supply chain from green bean storage to final delivery. Recommendations may include temperature-controlled packaging, route optimisation, and real-time monitoring tools. Our goal is to reduce spoilage and preserve flavour integrity from roastery to cup.

How long does a typical consulting engagement last?

Most projects run between four and twelve weeks, depending on scope. A focused menu redesign might take a month, while a full operational overhaul—including supplier vetting and staff training—can span two to three months. We tailor timelines to your specific needs.

Terms & Clarifications

1. Scope of Engagement. Escafes provides advisory and operational consulting services exclusively to commercial food-and-beverage establishments. All recommendations—whether relating to menu engineering, supply-chain logistics, or staff training—are delivered as professional guidance and do not constitute a guarantee of specific financial outcomes or sales performance.

2. Supplier & Logistics Disclaimers. While Escafes assists in identifying and vetting cold-chain suppliers and logistics partners, we do not assume liability for the performance, pricing, or contractual obligations of third-party vendors. Clients are responsible for final supplier selection and for verifying that all temperature-controlled handling procedures meet local health and safety regulations.

3. Training & Certification. Barista and hospitality training modules are designed to elevate skill levels and operational consistency. Escafes does not issue formal barista certifications or diplomas. Completion of a training program reflects participation only and should not be interpreted as an accredited qualification unless explicitly stated in a separate written agreement.

4. Intellectual Property. All materials—including menu templates, workflow diagrams, training manuals, and operational checklists—remain the intellectual property of Escafes unless otherwise transferred by a signed contract. Clients may use these materials for internal business operations but may not redistribute, resell, or republish them without prior written consent.

5. Limitation of Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Escafes’ total liability arising from any consulting engagement shall not exceed the total fees paid by the client for the specific service giving rise to the claim. Escafes shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of revenue, loss of goodwill, or interruption of business.

6. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution. These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the client’s primary place of business is located. Any disputes shall first be submitted to mediation before a mutually agreed mediator; if mediation fails, the dispute shall be resolved by binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the relevant local arbitration association.
